Business Development & Marketing Representative

Location: Stafford, Virginia (On-site with local and regional travel)

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development & Marketing Representative to expand our client base and strengthen our market presence throughout Virginia and the surrounding region. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, develop long-term customer relationships, and promote our ITAD and electronics recycling solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and data security requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with corporations, government agencies, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Generate qualified leads through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, trade shows, and in-person visits.
  • Present East Coast Recycler’s ITAD, electronics recycling, and secure data destruction services to prospective clients.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and service agreements.
  • Build and maintain an active sales pipeline using CRM software such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule pickups, logistics, inventory processing, and reporting.
  • Develop long-term client relationships to increase repeat business and contract renewals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, R2v3 requirements, NIST SP 800-88 data sanitization guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Represent the company professionally during meetings, conferences, and networking events.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales goals while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for customer meetings.
Preferred
  • Five or more years of B2B sales or business development experience.
  • Experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), electronics recycling, logistics, technology, or environmental services.
  • Experience selling to commercial, government, healthcare, or educational organizations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics.
